Lean on me

Lean on me by Muna Yousef brings two horses into a closely framed encounter. Their faces rest against one another, described through blue contours on a largely white ground. With little surrounding detail, the contact between the animals becomes the center of the composition and the source of its emotional tone.
Curves move from the faces into the flowing manes, linking the two forms without making them identical. Stronger blue passages give weight to particular features, while thinner lines allow other areas to remain light. The changing density of the marks creates a rhythm of definition and openness across the image.
The title offers a direct association with support. That reading grows from the visible relationship between the horses: neither figure needs a separate setting or an outward gesture to establish its presence. Their closeness gives the work a sense of mutual attention, while the surrounding space keeps the encounter clear.
Lean on me joins equestrian imagery with a tender study of connection. Its limited palette places emphasis on the angle of the heads, the movement of the hair, and the spaces between the lines. The result feels intimate without being crowded, allowing a small physical gesture to carry a broader feeling.
